What is an auto broker, exactly?
A licensed intermediary between you and the dealer network. Regal Motorcars is a licensed and bonded New York wholesale dealer and automobile broker, DMV Facility ID No. 7135482. We're not a franchise dealership and we're not affiliated with any manufacturer, which is why we can shop your specification across brands and lots instead of selling you what's already on one.
Does going through a broker cost me more?
Regal Motorcars may charge a fee for its brokerage services, and details of that compensation are available on request — you'll see it before you sign anything. In practice most customers come out ahead, because we're negotiating against dealer-side pricing across multiple stores rather than accepting one dealership's number.
How do you get a better price than I could?
Two reasons. We place volume, so dealers quote us differently than they quote a walk-in. And we can put the same request in front of several dealers at once, which means they're competing for the deal instead of you negotiating alone against one of them.
Do I ever have to go to a dealership?
No. The entire process runs by phone, text and email, and the vehicle is delivered to your home or office. Contracts are signed at delivery.
Are the vehicles new? Do they have a factory warranty?
Every vehicle we source is new or manufacturer-certified and arrives with its factory warranty intact, serviceable at any franchise dealer for that brand. Note that Regal Motorcars does not perform warranty repair work itself — that's done at the manufacturer's service network.
What does "$0 down" actually mean?
It refers to the down payment — the capitalised cost reduction — only. The first month's payment, the acquisition fee, registration and DMV fees, and applicable state and local taxes are still due at signing. We give you that total in writing before you commit.
Will applying hurt my credit?
Any credit application results in an inquiry. What we control is how many: we submit one application to the lenders most likely to approve you at the best tier for your profile, rather than sending it everywhere and stacking up inquiries.
What if I have a car to trade in, or a lease ending?
Both are handled in the same deal. Trade-ins are appraised through wholesale channels and the value is applied to your new vehicle, with positive equity returned to you. Lease returns are inspected, documented and grounded by us — and we'll take the old vehicle away at the same visit we deliver the new one.
How long does the whole thing take?
Most deals run under a week from first conversation to delivery. When the exact vehicle is already in stock nearby and your approval is straightforward, same-day delivery is possible. Factory orders and hard-to-find builds take longer, and we'll tell you that up front.
Do you work outside New York?
Yes. Long Island, New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut are our core delivery area, and we coordinate transport nationwide. For out-of-state customers, registration and titling are handled before the vehicle ships.
